This 50’s style bungalow home is located in the Historic Bywater Neighborhood, located at 619 Alvar Street between Chartres and Royal. Great neighborhood and amazing neighbors make for a safe and authentic New Orleans experience.
This 1600 sq ft house has a welcoming floor plan that allows for privacy and is great for entertaining (not a shotgun style, so no need to transit bedrooms to get to the kitchen or bathroom). The house comes fully furnished with three bedrooms, a bright and cheery bathroom and a fun retro style kitchen fully equipped to make delicious meals. Pots, pans, utensils, serving platters, glassware and kitchen linens provided. Newly furnished, spacious and airy living room and dining rooms make entertaining a breeze. Brand new smart 65" TV provides access to Netflix, etc to compliment the premium cable offerings.
The house was just updated with mid-century furnishings, new patio furniture, and central air & heat.
In the front of the house there’s a quiet and shaded front patio set back from the street (very unusual for this neighborhood) overlooking fresh landscaping where one can enjoy coffee and read the paper. The back porch is also covered and leads out into a spacious, lovely outdoor courtyard with outdoor dining and a bbq grill.
The private driveway makes parking a breeze. Plenty of on street parking in front of the house too, so having guests over is never a problem.
The entrance to the newly opened Crescent City Park is less than 200' from our front door. The park is directly on the river and offers great views of the river activity, a dog park and plenty of wide open space for walking, biking or rollerblading.
All utilities are included (water, electric, gas, cable with premium channels, wireless internet). Washer and dryer also included. Central air and heat newly installed.
Two bikes included in the rental and we're bicycling distance to the French Quarter (about 1 mile, flat terrain). Great diverse neighborhood with restaurants, bars, coffee shops, green parks and galleries. Walk to Satsuma Cafe, Elizabeth’s, Sneaky Pickle, Suis Generis, The Joint, Vaughn's, Pizza Delicious and Bacchanal just to name a few. Robert's is closest grocery store on St Claude Street and Mardi Gras Zone is a local market that is surprisingly well stocked and conveniently open 24 hrs a day, located just down the road that offers groceries, beverages, brick oven pizza, sandwiches and of course Mardi Gras supplies.
The local bus stop is 1/2 block from the house. Uber ad taxi service available 24/7.
